Highlights from the 2004 MAS Banquet

The Minnesota Archaeological Society held its Annual Banquet at Hamline University in St. Paul on April 16, 2004. The guest speaker was Carolyn Gilman from the Missouri Historical Society  and author of the recent book, Lewis and Clark: Across the Divide, published by The Smithsonian Institution Press (as well as being daughter of MAS board member Rhoda Gilman).

About 60 people attended, and everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner. Following the dinner, Master of Ceremonies Jim Cummings did introductions and oversaw drawings for several door prizes including a year-long pass to the Minnesota State Parks, tickets to the Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West Imax at the Science Museum of Minnesota, tickets to the an exhibition Beauty, Honor, and Tradition: The Legacy of Plains Indian Shirts at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, and a signed copy of Larry Zimmerman's American Indians¿The First Nations: Native North American Life, Myth and Art

Everyone was also pleased that Monroe Killy, one of the founding members of the MAS was able to attend the event. Our  annual banquet lecture is named after Mr. Killy
